You want to relax, calm down and see stunning landscapes…or you want sports activities you will find it here. Drive along the Gweebarra to the wild atlantic way, doesn`t matter north- or southbounds, it`s allways an amazing daytrip. Direction north to Dungloe, a nice small town with all the shopping opportunities. You can even go to Lidl and Aldi or the local Supervalue. Pubs in the mainroad with best Guinness and live music.They also serve really good barfood like Seafood Chowder and the famous Irish Stew. A must try.

Places like Horn Head, Malin Head, the Glenveagh national park, where you can visit the castle and the park, or the Poison Glen at Mount Errigal, Donegals highest mountain, are unique and more than worth a visit. Southbounds to Portnoo, passing a very nice golf course, direction Rosbeg you will hit into Ardara. Donegal tweet handwoolen jumpers and jackets you can buy here. Follow the road to the Assaranca waterfall and the caves, up Glengeash Pass, you will reach Glencolumbkille, a very old village that you can visit and see how the people lived in the earlier years. Have a homemade scone and a cup of tea. Take the road to the silver strand, an amazing bay. On the way to Killybegs, the huge harbour, take the road to Slieve League in Carrick. Stunning, amazing, breathtaking. They say the highest cliffs in europe. In Teelin you can take a boat trip and visit the small destillery. On the way back visit Donegal town. If you are fancy have some fresh oysters and a pint in the Old Castle Bar. Allways a lovely day for a Guinness. Life is good. Furthermore if you are on a motorbike you will know what I`m talking about. If you want to go shopping Letterkenny, Ballyboffey, Donegal Town, eventually Derry in Northern Irland are very good opportunities.

 

Sport activities like walking over the house hill or climbing Mt. Errigal, these are fantastic views and landscapes. Bicycling, Mountain biking, everything is possible. Swimming in the sea, surfing at one of the nicest beaches in our region, the Dooey Beach, awesome. Horse riding or drive a carriage, hill- or rock climbing, kayaking. All the things to do in this lovely area. As well as fishing. Cliff fishing at the sea for macrele or pollack, or for brown trout at one of the many lakes, at the river for seatrout or salmon. Everybody will find something. Even pike fishing in Donegal or deepsea fishing, everything is possible. The local pubs in our area is a have to do and visit. There is Aiden`s in Doochary. The Teach Gleann Ceo. You will find best Guinness with Pool and Darts, sometimes live music and other activities. You are allways welcome. Ag teacht abhaile. The meeting point for the locals in the main road Doochary. In Lettermacaward, as we say Leitire the Gweebarra Bar, a very nice Pub with a cafe where you can have some meal, best pints and sports on tv in Kevin`s. Every friday night 22 ish traditional irish music session in Elliott`s Bar. All musicians and singers are very welcome. Pool and darts and best Tennants. The craic is mighty in Daniel`s. The ones who find Packie`s Bar, they know what I`m talking about. 100 years back in the years and the most scienic view with unbelieveable sunsets. Packie serves best Guinness. Voted to one of the best hidden pubs all over Ireland. And of course there are so many more nice things to do in this beautiful country.
